5 used cars in Pakistan that actually hold their value (and 3 that don't)

If you'll resell within 3 years, this matters more than the colour. Five winners, three losers, real depreciation numbers from our sales data.

5 used cars in Pakistan that actually hold their value (and 3 that don't)

Resale value is the difference between a smart buy and an emotional one. Our internal data from 4,200 sales since 2009 shows a tight pattern. Here's the list.

The 5 winners

1. Honda City 1.5 i-VTEC (2017+)

3-year depreciation: ~18% of original on-road price. The most resellable car in Pakistan. Parts available in every city, Honda service mechanic in every neighbourhood, and a buyer pool that never runs out.

2. Toyota Corolla XLi / GLi (any year)

3-year depreciation: ~15%. The Corolla is the second-most-resellable, especially in 1.3 manual. Boring, indestructible, and every fleet operator wants one.

3. Suzuki Cultus VXL AGS (2018+)

3-year depreciation: ~22%. The auto-gearbox version specifically. Manual Cultus depreciates faster — the AGS unit unlocks the female + first-time-buyer market.

4. Toyota Vitz Jewela 1.0 (Pakistan-bought, not import)

3-year depreciation: ~20%. The locally-bought + locally-registered Vitz holds value far better than imports. Buyers trust the registration history.

5. Honda BR-V S MT (2018+)

3-year depreciation: ~24%. The 7-seater premium pricing means Pakistani families pay over MSRP if a clean BR-V appears on the market. Slowest sale-to-listing time on PakWheels: 9 days average.

The 3 losers

1. Audi A3 / A4 (any year)

3-year depreciation: ~45%. European luxury parts are expensive in Pakistan, service workshops are rare, and the next buyer pool is tiny. You drive a luxury car for the experience, not the resale.

2. Daihatsu Mira import (660cc)

3-year depreciation: ~38%. We wrote a full post on why — small engine + thin parts pipeline + nervous secondary market. Skip if resale matters to you.

3. Honda Civic Turbo 1.5 (2017+)

3-year depreciation: ~31%. The turbo Civic is a great drive but Pakistani buyers worry about the turbo unit's longevity at 1.5L and 1+ lakh km. The naturally-aspirated 1.8L holds value better.

The pattern? **Common cars hold value. Rare cars don't.** Pakistan's used-car market punishes anything outside the top 6–8 mass-market models. If you're buying with one eye on resale, pick boring. Pick common. Pick what every taxi service buys.

We can help with both ends — see what we have on the floor in our Inventory section, or call us if you'd like to sell to us directly with a same-day valuation.
